Spilling the Bucket (List)

Does anyone else have a million zillion things they want to do before they die?

I don't even think a million zillion would cover my endless list, which is an ongoing joke between the blonde and myself.  My list is exhausting just thinking about - and one day I will truly write it all down - if there is enough paper.

I'm one of those people who has tried everything - what is the saying - "jack of all trades, master of none" - that's me.

I've done swim lessons, swim team, tennis, keyboarding, tap dancing, voice, piano, piano ensemble, basketball, volleyball, track (ha), hurdles (haha), shotput (hahaha), soccer, horseback riding, canoeing, trumpet - you name it, I've tried it.

But if I were to make a list of only my top 5 - things that I will be devastated if I can't do - here they are:

1. I want to sail a boat.
Not just a daytrip - I want to really know how to sail - and do it.

2. I want to live in another country.
Just for a couple years - to really experience the culture and the people - I don't think you can fully do that on a vacation.

3. I want to have lots of animals.
(specifically, dogs, a royal dandie pig, nigerian dwarf goats, and I wouldn't mind a horse)  :o)

4. I want to grow food in a garden, and share delicious meals with friends.

5. I want to be hopelessly, ridiculously in love -
for a really long time.

What would be at the top of your "bucket list"?

fade to shade

Last week, gossip columns were abuzz with talk about Ashlee Simpson's ombre hair color.
I couldn't really understand what the big deal was (plus I think she looks great here) because the oh-so-cute Rachel Bilson has been rocking this look for a minute.

Then, Jessica Biel has spotted on Monday night following the new hair trend.

I think all these ladies are beautiful, but wonder if any of us "normal" girls will venture out this far...hmmm, maybe a good change for fall?!?

All this ombre talk got me thinking and when you think of ombre two things pop into my mind....
Gwen's infamous and gorgeous wedding dress!
{flashback}

And more recently, Zoe's daring Givenchy Oscar choice...still love it!

BCBG just released the little ombre number, and I instantly thought of Zoe's dress...what do you think...I really want to see it in person!

In far more relatable ombre options...
I think this BCBG dress is perfection.  They also offer it in a top too!

I also wouldn't mind this little sparkly number from Alice and Olivia via Shopbop.

And I really am loving this trench!  Guess who designed this...Jessica Simpson, seriously!

This J Crew coat is also a great ombre option for when the cooler months approach.

Sienna Miller and Jessica Alba in super stylish ombre jeans.  I think these are both from J Brand.
(She's the third Jessica I've mentioned in this post?!?)

Rachel Zoe even featured this ah-mazing gold ombre Alexander Wang cuff in Wednesday's Zoe Report.  Wow, this is awesome!
Okay, now that this post is finished I'll go back to lounging in my Givenchy couture ombre gown on super comfortable dining rooms chairs...

biker babes

I've never been a biker.

I learned to ride a bike without training wheels when I was gifted a 10-speed on my 12th birthday.  I probably rode the thing a dozen times.  I seriously couldn't have cared less about riding bikes and have always preferred to get where I want to go on foot.  (or thankfully, now, by car)

In Little Rock, we have a pretty active biking community, and sometimes I'm tempted when I see bikers zipping past me while I'm hoofing it down a trail...I assure you this temptation would quickly pass if I climbed on one...but how long has it been since any of us have taken a leisurely bike ride?

So today I wanted to reflect on the beauty and romanticism of a great bike ride!

All great bikes must have a basket - for flowers, vegetables, puppies...

Who says you can't ride in a dress...just be appropriate  ;o)

can you say leg workout?!  haha

And bicycles are always nice with two...

the blonde found this cute tank from f21...I mean how cute can you get?

The pics almost have me suckered in.  Almost.  ;o)
Hope you have a great day - however you get where you're going!
The week is all downhill from here!

lend me a hand

Look at these genius, though a tad creepy, curtain holder hand things! Aren't they so odd and awesome all at the same time?!?
This is from the Carolina Herrera's creative director. I found these images on Plush Palette...go here to see his entire home...it's worth the click:)

Speaking of hands...here's a few cool hand hooks that come in every gesture you can imagine plus several cute colors.  I think they would definitely be great in the right home and would obviously be a wonderful conversation starter for the guest that arrived and hung their coat on this...

It would be really cute to hang them in a series similar to this...

Here's a fist from an old Elle Decor...looks pretty awesome in this room!

Antique glove molds are also becoming quite the home accessory.  I'm still not sure how I feel about these...sometimes I think it looks interesting, but other times they kind of freak me out?!?

You can use them in a grouping..

or just use one to add a little interest.

(design sponge)

(casa sugar)
I actually love this giant one!!

The metal ones are also super cool and these don't freak me out as bad for some reason?!?

(apaerment therapy)
If you want to bring a similar look into your home, but can't find any vintage option then check out these...
from Urban Outfitters...here, here and here

from Z Gallerie...here and here

So what is your conclusion...cool or a little odd?

Cozying up to Monday

Is it just me, or is your bed at it's comfiest on Monday mornings too??

Mine is so warm, and soft, especially on Mondays...

I would trade a lot of things for that throw...

But finally, after about a thousand WHACKS on the snooze alarm
(I'm sure my future husband will really adore this habit) ;o)

I'm up.

Hello Monday!!

Excited to discover what this week has in store!
(may need a little more coffee before I start leaping in the air though!) ;o)
