It's getting colder...FURreal

Fur is so huge in fashion this fall, but it's also making a strong statement in the home too!
Fur throws are perfect for this time of year.  They give your room an instant update, create glamour and just look so cozy!

I'm a huge fan of the dark multi-tone fur!  I want this room so bad I can taste it!

For a less obvious option...stick with a solid fur in the same color as your sofa.  You still have the added texture, but it's way more subtle!

Wow, there goes subtlety!

Furs are perfect for the bedroom.  This a perfect way to transition your home from summer to the cooler months.

Another room I'm in love with...the fur throw, the horn table, metallic lamp...it's just perfection!

Love these pillows...great alternative to the throw!

Isn't it crazy how just a little fur throw can add so much glamour to a space?!?

I had to end with this image because it is one of my favorites at the moment.  That fur stole hanging there makes me swoon every single time I see it...

Since I know you must be dying over these furs as much as I am...
here's our options!

Pottery Barn has a gorgeous throw!  I've seen it in person and all the colors looks great...my fave is the frosted taupe but the white is also stunning.  They are a little pricey at $149...might be something you could hold out on until after the holidays and get on sale, but it could sell out?!?

Pier 1 is offering this little stunner for $59.95.  I haven't seen it in person so I'm not sure how it looks in real life, but it looks great online:)  I'm going to try to check it out this weekend!
West Elm is also on the fur throw wagon and right now these are on sale for $95 makred down from $119!!
Has anyone seen this in person?  We do not have a West Elm:(

If you are loving fur as much as us then definitely come back on Monday for a little surprise!!!
Have a cozy weekend!

Gossip Girl: It's NOT just about Fashion (but it mostly is)...

It's no secret: We Love Gossip Girl!

As we mentioned Monday, Blair and Serena are by far our favorite blonde and brunette duo - to the point we copied their looks for Halloween!  And by far the best part of the show is the fashion.

(image via: unknown)

(image via: unknown - but you can find these shows on style.com)

We adore the crazy up-and-down relationship of these two best friends...

(image: unknown)

And will forever hold out hopefully that Chuck and Blair will end up together...

(image: unknown)

But another great aspect to the show that is usually overshadowed by the incredible fashion and great drama, is the great style of the sets!

For the artist type...the Humphrey's loft...
(I adore the chesterfield sofa and brick walls!)

(image: unknown)

For the modernists (or just bachelors even)...Chuck's penthouse...
(this has a little bit of a retro look to me at the same time - I think it's the sofa...)

I've always wondered who the chick is in that painting - looks a little like Rachel Zoe...haha

The Van der Woodsen Penthouse...for the modern/eclectic type...
(combining upper east side Lily with brooklyn Rufus)

and of course the signature art piece of their foyer...
(image: unknown)

For the ultimate in luxury, there is Blair's room...

(image: unknown)

For the boho girl, Serena's...

which she doesn't live in, now that she's roommates with Blair, so here is her newly designed room (compliments of Blair)

the art of books

I love reading and with that, I love books!
(image via: this is glamorous)
I have a steadily growing collection, and after seeing this bookcase, was inspired to organize my books by color:

(I know we've used this image one thousand times - we both LOVE it!  Too bad we have no idea where it came from!)

It seems I'm not the only one attracted to the rainbow organization...

Others found beauty in the pages themselves...

While others decided to frame their masterpieces...

I think this books-as-a-sidetable is cute in theory...but potentially unstable!  I'm sure it helps they are all about the same size...

(image: unknown)

This haphazard stacking looks a little like someone just moved in - but beautiful at the same time??
(image via: this is glamorous)

It is such a rainy, yucky, cold day here - I would love to just lay around and look through lovely books all day long!

Ahh well...Happy Humpday everyone!

{fashion crush}: gillian zinser

Remember when I posted this a few weeks ago...
At that time, I had no idea who this girl was.  I kind of assumed she was just some random cute girl  wearing an awesome outfit?!?

Then a few days ago, I see this on The Vogue Diaries.  First, I freaked over the outfit (I even my made my husband look how cute she looked) and then I realized it was the same Gillian girl.

I instantly googled her name and learned that she's a character on 90210 and started looking at more pics of her.  I came across this and remembered that I had saved it months ago b/c I loved the maxi dress with the leather jacket!  Crazy!

Then it happened again...I also had this pic of her saved.  I never realized that these were all the same girl?!?

Okay, so I didn't save this one, but it's still so cute!

I know she's got a ton of that boho-Sienna Miller-Nicole Richie thing, and I'm sure that's why I'm quickly developing a slight obsession...

I just think she's too awesome at the moment and can't wait to see more of her daring fashion choices!

playing dress up

The tricks are over, the candy's been eaten...
Halloween is over my friends.

But what a great weekend it was!!

As I mentioned last week, this year I got to wear two costumes - yay!!

Saturday night I was a Chicken!!!!

This photo was professionally taken by the host of the party - if you want to see some of the other awesome costumes - check out Grant Harrison's photography blog!!  There are a ton of great pics on there besides me dressed as a chicken!  :o)

Sunday night, we decided to go as our favorite blonde and brunette duo - Serena and Blair from Gossip Girl!

Although I'm a little bummed Halloween is over - the best part about this time of year is there's another holiday waiting right around the corner!

Let the Thanksgiving preparations begin!!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

~ the brunette

P.S. (If you want to share a pic of yourself (or your kids or your dogs) dressed in costume, email it to us and we'll post it on the blog!)
