{Oscars Fashion Awards}: the Only Awards that Really Matter

First, what happened to the color this year?  A little disappointed with all the "safe", neutral gowns...

But here are a few who did not disappoint!

Diane Kruger in Chanel
...one of our all time favorite dresses...simply stunning and in our opinion tied for best dressed with

Sarah Jessica Parker in Chanel
...the yellow dress was just beautiful and love her oversized bun...did you see her arm full of blingy bracelets?!

The beautiful Zoe Saldana in Givenchy, gorgeous as always and finally a color!
Zoe took a risk and it paid off.
(and the Brunette is insane for purple)

...check out that rock on her finger...

Could Carey Mulligan be any cuter?
This look just works...the pixie hair, her petite features, the fun Prada with the shortened front hem, the too cute crossed strap shoes...the girl knows what she's doing.

Rachel McAdams looked stunning in Elie Saab.  This pic doesn't do her justice...she was breathtaking when she walked on stage...love the print with her pale skin and natural make-up.

Heartbreaker of the night - Charlize Theron, one of the brunette's all time faves.  Charlize always breaks out the couture for the Oscars (remember the gorgeous emerald dress with the huge bow?) but this year it just didn't work :(

The "best neutral dress" award goes to Demi.

These two tried to spice up their neutrals with a red lip...

The "underappreciated because you're not really a celebrity but still a knockout" award goes to Luciana Damon.  This pale pink against her tan skin and dark hair is s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g!

The "thank goodness you wore color" award goes to Vera Farmiga.  We loved this Marchesa and so grateful that Vera (no idea who this lady is) was brave enough to step out in ruffles and color...makes me happy!

Honorable Mention to Sigourney Weaver.  Seriously, this lady is 61 and looked like a complete knock out in this red Lanvin.

Last, but not least...the "I am a movie star and always look sophisticated and don't mess with being trendy because I am a true classic" award goes to Kate Winslet...We think the award says it all:)

  1. Re: Charlize Theron -- targets on boobs in a serious setting (usually) = fashion faux pas.
